Conclusion:
The two organizations had
something in common but their "ways of approach" could not become one
for reasons now discussed. Some observers consider this situation
'unfortunate'. The Arya Samaj could have built a unifying religious / cultural
force in the country, which was - and is - the need of the hour.
The Theosophical Society did
work in the direction of 'renaissance' in later years and an association with Arya
Samaj could have enhanced its utility and sustenance. Philosophical beliefs and
behavioral patterns came in clash.
Reconstruction of Social and
Unitive values, the need for that being inescapable, becomes possible only when
the total perspective undergoes a sincere examination.
