Long Messages

Recently a member mentioned about long postings he sees here and in other
forums.

Many of us have day jobs and read and reply to messages in our spare time
after hours, which is limited. Hence, there is the likelyhood that we just
skin long posts simple due to time constraints. So we tend to read short
postings. While some subjects need long postings, it looks like, it would
be helpful for all long postings to be prefaced with a short summary at the
beginning. If the summary make the topic interesting to the reader, then
they will read through the rest of the long postings. Just a thought.
