HPB & KH on the Christ

May 08, 2012 03:45 PM
by Daniel

HPB's words point toward a true mystical Christianity, a universal
religion. . . .

"...Jesus Christ, i.e., the Man-God of the Christians copied from the Avatâras of every country, from the Hindu Krishna as well as the Egyptian Horus, was never a historical person. He is a deified personification of the glorified type of the great Hierophants of the Temples, and his story, as told in the New Testament, is an allegory, assuredly containing profound esoteric truths, but still an allegory.  Every act of the Jesus of the New Testament, every word attributed to him, every event related of him during the three years of the mission he is said to have accomplished, rests on the programme of the Cycle of Initiation, a cycle founded on the Precession of the Equinoxes and the Signs of the Zodiac...."

". . . 'the coming of Christ,' means the presence of CHRISTOS in a
regenerated world, and not at all the actual coming in body
of 'Christ' Jesus; . . . for Christ--the true esoteric SAVIOUR--
is no man, but the DIVINE PRINCIPLE in every human being."

"It hushes the 'Lo here! and lo there!' and declares the Christ, like
the kingdom of heaven, to be within."

"...let these unfortunate, deluded Christians know that the real Christ of every Christian is the Vach, the 'mystical Voice,'. . . . "

. . . It is in this ancient wisdom, and in the Christos of the
Gnostics under its various names, that the Theosophists, disciples of
the Mahatmas, believe. . . . "

. . . true Theosophists will never accept ...a Christ made
Flesh. . . ."
