H.P.B. wrote to members of her Esoteric School: 

"Let every member know . . . that the time for such priceless acquisition is limited. The writer of the present is old; her life is well-nigh worn out, and she may be summoned 'home' any day and almost any hour. And if her place is even filled up, perchance by another worthier and more learned than herself, still there remain but twelve years to the last hour of the term - namely, till December the 31st, 1899. Those who will not have profited by the opportunity (given to the world in every last quarter of a century), those who will not have reached a certain point of psychic and spiritual development, or that point from which begins the cycle of adeptship, by that day - those will advance no further than the knowledge already acquired. No Master of Wisdom from the East will appear or send any one to Europe or America after that period, and the sluggards will have to renounce every chance of advancement in their present incarnation - until the year 1975. Such is the LAW, for we are in Kali Yuga - the Black Age - and the restrictions in this cycle, the first 5,000 years of which will expire in 1897, are great and almost insuperable." H.P.B. in Volume I of The Secret Doctrine told her readers:

"In Century the Twentieth some disciple more informed, and far better fitted [than H.P.B.], may be sent by the Masters of Wisdom to give final and irrefutable proofs that there exists a Science called Gupta-Vidya; and that . . . the source of all religions and philosophies . . . has been for many ages forgotten and lost to men, but is at last found."
 
". . .  the SECRET DOCTRINE is not a treatise, or a series of vague theories, but contains all that can be given out to the world in this century." The Secret Doctrine, 1888, Vol I, p. xxxviii (original edition) Italics added.
 
And a few lines above these two paragraphs, one reads:

". . . But it will take centuries before much more is given from it [the Secret Archaic Doctrine]. . . . " Italics added.
 
 
Regards the '1975' prediction given out by HPB it would be good intellectual exercise to consider that she refers to a first ray cycle and as such a centennial impulse indicates a one hundred year ray cycle. The work of HPB came in on that 100 year cycle as indeed would the indicated "torch-bearer" impulse from 1975 if it had found planetary conditions, economics and relations, conducive to a further dissemination of the wisdom. The 1919 cycle of AAB, a second ray disciple of KH came in upon, was not a first ray cycle but a second ray cycle for the twentieth century. The Tibetan DK indicated this and also indicated his work was not complete and that the third phase of the teachings would resume from 1975 only if planetary conditions were permitting. This third phase will be coming in upon the firsy ray of Will and Power. 
 

It will be notable to the student of HPB that she was a first ray disciple of Morya and revealed along a first ray approach and dissemination the secret doctrine all that could be revealed and no more. It was not her duty to reveal along the second ray approaches to truth, aught of the Christ or much more than she did. No decision had at that time been made for the reappearance of the Christ which until then was undecided. It was AAB being a second ray torch bearer that was able to reveal newly arrived at decisions by the head of hierarchy, the Christ on the second ray, anent his reappearance to humanity. Hence this second phase teachings were of a second ray nature and from the second ray ashram of the Tibetan Master DK whom she was closely working with by instruction of the Chohan KH. 

 
It is notable to the student that he the Tibetan DK, a second ray Initiate took his fifth Initiation in 1875. The fifth Initiation is governed by the first ray and therefore is along the line of the first ray centennial cycle and revealed and undertaken in the latter twenty five years of a century. This should be considered by the words of HPB, "or that point from which begins the cycle of adeptship" between in this case 1875 and "till December the 31st, 1899" and if we refer to the work of AAB/DK "made possible by the Master's response to the first Ray of Power or of the Will-to-Good, experienced in its second aspect at the fifth initiation."* This initiation is expearienced on the first aspect or sub ray of the second ray. HPB clearly reveals the first ray cycle and predicts within that cycle and numerical period, no further first ray Initiate will come, not until the next first ray cycle of 1975 and only when or if  'planetary conditions' permited. "It is at this point that students in one branch of our theosophical movement must recognize the fact that just as H. P. B. came forth on a cyclic tide of energy to destroy the limiting forms to be found in the world of science and religion, so his work must fit in with other force emanations, such as the constructive work of the second ray in conjunction with the energy of the seventh at this time.  

When students learn to blend the one hundred year cycles of the first type of energy with the equally powerful impulses from the second Ray and the third, we shall then have a cessation of many controversies. No great impulse will come from the Lodge along the line of the first Ray of Will or Power till the close of a century." TCF 1038.

"H. P. B. is right in his affirmation as far as the impulse of the first ray is concerned; but his followers are not right, in so far as they overlook and negate the six other types of impulses, of equal or of more importance, which may emanate cyclically from the Lodge, and which will meet with response from those who vibrate to that particular type of energy." TCF 1039. 

"1. Preparatory, given 1875 - 1890...written down by H.P.B. 
2. Intermediate, given 1919 - 1949...written down by A.A.B. 
3. Revelatory, emerging after 1975...to be given on a worldwide scale via the radio. 

In the next century and early in the century an initiate will appear and will carry on this teaching. It will be under the same "impression," for my task is not yet completed and this series of bridging treatises between the material knowledge of man and the science of the initiates has still another phase to run. The remainder of this century, as I told you elsewhere (Destiny of the Nations, Page 106), must be dedicated to rebuilding the shrine of man's living, to reconstructing the form of humanity's life, to reconstituting the new civilization upon the foundations of the old, and to the reorganizing of the structures of world thought, world politics, plus the redistribution of the world's resources in conformity to divine purpose. Then and only then will it be possible to carry the revelation further." RI 225.
