Dear MKR:
Â
Many thanks for the news item.
Â
I wish to add a few things.
Â
Annie Besant won the Krishnamurti casi on appeal to the Privy Council, which was the highest level in those days.
Â
Sir C. P. later became a close associate of Dr. Besant. He wrote a foreword to a book that Dr. Besanr wrote on India. My father was a great admirer of Dr. Besant as was my mother. My father said that at least once in a year Sir C. P. read Dr. Besant's autobiography.
Â
Sir C. P. worked closely with Dr. Rukmini Arundale and was a Vice President of Kalakshetra.
Â
In 1955, I wasÂvisiting Krishnamurti's School in Rajghat, Varanasi. Krishnaji gave a series of talks. One day the school children put a play. Krishnaji was there. In those days, Sir C. P. was the Vice Chancellor of Benearas Hindu University. Sir C. P. came to the play. Both of them met.
Â
Thanking you,
Yours fraternally,
Jayananda H. Hiranandani
Â
