As I recall, before the communist take over of Russia, theosophists there
were involved very many humanitarian activities in many cities contrary to
the emphasis one finds in some countries the occult/unseen side of things.
I am sure some of our fellow theosophists from Russia will be able throw
some light on the activities that went on before they were banned.
Some time ago, a friend of mine made a comment that Sunlight is for
everyone and does not discriminate anyone friend or foe. Likewise,
theosophy is for everyone. Whether one benefits from it or not for the
person to judge. If Svetlana found something in theosophy, that is good.
