Defining Theosophy

Aug 25, 2011 07:28 AM
by MKR

It is a pity that many ardent and committed theosophists have for years
tried to define what is theosophy and what is not. Some have seen this even
with well known scholars and elected leaders around the world. The blind
followers were just following the way shown by the leaders.

This is in spite of the fact that even the Masters in their voluminous
correspondence with Sinnett never tried to define it. They have mentioned
the word âtheosophyâ only seven times in the Letters. That being the case,
any attempt by anyone to try to define theosophy is a wild goose chase with
no light at the end of the tunnel.

Attempts to define theosophy has hurt theosophical movement and the TS
especially in the minds of newbees and potential future recruits. It is time
that all of us should dispel this error that has been going on and this
should help theosophy and TS.

Anyone who in interested in the above topic should read the Watch Tower
Notes in August 2011 Theosophist which can be accessed at www.ts-adyar.org.
