Geoffrey Hodson, the well known theosophist who traveled, lectured and wrote
for many years on varied theosophical subjects. He was also involved in some
psychic investigations as well. The value of his talks and writings is in
that they are all first hand information. While we may not agree with some
of the things he wrote, his writings are priceless and we are fortunate in
that all of them have been compiled and published in two voluminous volumes
and I am waiting for the day they will be available to everyone as pdf
files. These days with cheap scanners and computers, donât be surprised if
you find theosophists have converted them to electronic form for their
private and personal use.

Here is something that Hodson said in a convention lecture (Quoted from
collected works.):


"What makes a saint? Why were the saints saints? Because they
were cheerful when it was difficult to be cheerful; patient when it was
difficult to be patient; and because they pushed on when they wanted
to stand still; and kept silent when they wanted to talk; and were agreeable
when they wanted to be disagreeable. THAT WAS ALL. It was quite
simple, and always will be.

Since some of us do not find self-illumination to be so simple as
that....."
