Vitvan was an American gnostic teacher whose work is very much related to Theosophy (if it's not Theosophy itself recast into modern language!) He was a chela of a third degree Hindu initiate, A.K. Mozumdar, who took him to the same level of development to give to America the essential teachings of Vedanta and Greco-Egyptian Gnosticism. This might seem to be inharmonious with the scope of this forum, but if you can give it a chance, look into his work at www.sno.org . The teachings he presented will enhance one's understanding of Theosophy.
