Anyway, Indians are till now very grateful to them both. In some big cities of India one can find Besant street.
When Sinnett wrote a political article about state of Hindoos in his magazine, Mahaymas thanked him; Blavatsky also wrote at least two political articles, one about the terrorist attack aianst Russian emperor, and another on study of Russian language by the English officers. In her book "From jungles and caves of Hindostan" she made many harsh remarks about the British rule in India (they were removed from the first English translation which is almost half less than the original). And as I wrote above, she wrote that the Society (non only HPB personally!) is hostile to communism.
Individual members of the Theosophical Society can take part in politics but they cannot do that in the name of the Society.
Nevertheless, no one there proposes to digitize political literature.
