Reflections on an Ageless Wisdom; A Commentary on Mahatma Letters to A P
Sinnett by Joy Mills.
I got hold of a copy and at the outset was very impressed with the quality
of hard cover binding which would last another century and the printing was
superb.
The book is the result of various discussions over the years and would be an
invaluable reference to the readers of Mahatma Letters, 99% of whom are
theosophists.
The book is priced at $39.95 and can be bought for about $25.00. There is no
paperback edition which would have been much cheaper.
Considering the International audience and the price, especially outside the
West, it is really too pricey. The copyright is held by Quest Books, which
is an arm of Theosophical Society in America.
One wonders why the movers and shakers and also the author did not think of
the pricing structure necessary to make it easy for theosophists to afford
to purchase it. The easiest way to get widest world wide distribution is to
make a pdf file available on the Internet for free download. Also, once the
book is available as a pdf, then current print-on-demand technology will
enable anyone to print a copy anywhere in the West.
Until such time an electronic version is made available for free, the
circulation is going to be minimal and perhaps it may take years to
breakeven. Most poor theosophists would have to wait for the day when pdf
version is available.
It is time for the publishers, whose main object is to spread Theosophy in
the world, would seriously consider making a pdf version available.
Producing a pdf version is very easy.
