Re: theos-talk Re: Adyar Convention Bulletin - Dec 27, 2010 (Second Day)

I am glad that you enjoy the bulletins. But for this list, there is no
publicity about them to members from the sections - as usual it is to their
interests to have uninformed members!!!!

I would like some member who is attending to blog about other interesting
episodes and events. Since the bulletin is an official one, it is very
constrained in what can be put in it. However, it is an improvement over
what was available to members world-wide in spite of Internet availability
over a decade.

The next important development I would welcome would be live streaming of
the lectures, like what was done at Rome. It is the way to go. Hope the
movers and shakers at Adyar recognize all the good it can bring.

Communication with members, both at Section level and International, needs
immediate attention. In the past, months after events crumbs trickle to
members and most do not seem to care and it worked to the advantage of the
leaders.

With Internet and communication capabilities, world has changed. Hope
theosophical organizations see the bare truth and respond to it. A recent
example was the uploading of early issues of Theosophist and Lucifer at the
site theosophy.net.

This was accomplished by the efforts of a couple of dedicated volunteers (no
direct or indirect funding) and it just took couple of weeks from start to
finish. I think it is a lesson about what a couple of dedicated volunteers
can achieve and in Internet world, the power has moved from organizations to
individuals; and it is due to a few individuals that major social and
spiritual changes have taken place in the world - not due to money and big
organizations.
