Among my odder friends is an internet evangelist and conspiracy nutcase
(and yes, he is a friend) who is, of course, convinced that all the evil in
the world comes from HPB and Alice Bailey and he cannot quite understand why
I don't agree with him. And I have a great deal of trouble not laughing in
his chatroom when he gets going on Alice Bailey.

Hi Chuck
You are correct in assuming AAB utilized all of her training and acquired
knowledge in the Esoteric Section to work with her additional
contributions. I
am familiar with the esoteric work of the Theosophical society and what
AAB
wrote and she does expand and take these concepts into new and expanded
areas.
This is why I continually ask those who doubt this possibility to study
the
material of AAB's themselves and come to their own conclusions.
Thanks Chuck for your continued support of hilarity, parody, farce,
satire,
occult street theater and humor. We all take this work way to seriously
and you
keep us honest.

Well, never actually having seen the ES material I have no personal
grounds
for making a comparison, only being able to say that I never heard anyone
in the ES laugh at the comment.

I think the key came in an brief exchange in the Olcott Library many years
ago. An elderly lady was staying at Olcott for a short time, doing
something Theosophical, and she came into the library walked into the
stacks and
asked why the writings of Alice Bailey were there, not because of any
objection to what they said, but because, as she said, they were all
stolen from
the Esoteric Section teachings.
That alone would send them up the walls and over the battlements.

This was a very contemporary article to have been written a hundred years
ago! As for the "dethroning of popes" that still is the main thing needed
IMO. But now in addition to an authoritarian mindset on behalf of the
current leadership, the popes of 100 years ago are untouchable, beyond
criticism,
still enthroned even though long dead.
I would think that Morten and I agree about the relative value of the
writings of Leadbeater and Bailey compared to those of HPB. I'd be equally
disinclined to spend time on either one, but if others in a group wanted
to
study them would not object, just skip those classes. But the difference
in
the TS is that nothing negative can ever said about the former, nothing
positive about the latter, without making The Powers That Be extremely
uncomfortable. What is it about Bailey in particular that creates such a
paranoid
atmosphere throughout the TS?
