Over the years there have been attacks belittling the theosophical classics
and its authors and this is not new.

Reader has to read the classics themselves and come to their own conclusions
and not blindly accept anyone else's opinion (however learned or scholarly
the critic appears to be) which in most cases likely to be driven by other
motives than an open inquiry independent of any personal prejudices.
