I just meant that a well educated woman over 30 with a career of her own would not be expected to change her name on marriage (in The Netherlands). In fact, studies show that those who don't change their names are on average more successful in their careers.
It's at the very least a branding thing: keeping the name you were known to have started out your career with just helps avoid confusion. My mother changed her professional name back to her maiden name, without divorcing my father, a few years ago. I think out of feminist ideals. Personally I would not think of changing my name on marriage.
I've since been informed that this is a VERY Dutch perspective, not relevant for Brazil.
I'm 35 - is that young even on an online site like this one?
