If you don't want any part of him/her, you would not want even to listen to that person to find for yourself if he or she says anything valuable or not; you limit yourself because of your prejudice about that person. I always listen before I judge that he or she brings something new and valuable to me. Will you listen to that person anyway, without prejudice?

Well, I would want no part of him,her or it, depending upon which species or planet the World Teacher hailed from. To study the ideas is one thing, to be a follower is quite another. Anyone coming along claiming, seriously and not joking like I did, to be the World Teacher is someone I would not waste my time with because he is going to be either a liar or a lunatic or a combination of the two.

You said that

"No one who values independent thought would welcome any World Teacher. "

I value idependent thought and I still value a World Teacher!

For me, Krishnamurti might be called a World Teacher, since people from all over the world appreciate his writings. For me, Ly Hong Chi is also another world teacher, since his book "Zhuan Falun" is a kind of Bible for Falun Gong, and there are about 100 millions of practitioners from all over the world.:

I think independently, but I still respect the people who can teach me something new.

No one who values independent thought would welcome any World Teacher.

The concept is a bizarre anachronism left over from the same mindset that

produced the dictators of the period between the two world wars and one that

we would do well to throw into the ashcan of history along with those

dictators.
