Yes, is is called "The Safe Channel" I can provide a few links. It has to do with the fact that the Van Allen Belts do not enclose the sphere of space around the earth. They effect a limited zone of degree's measure relative to the Celestial Equator measured from the center of the Earth. The zone of safety is used apprentlly on the "day" side of the earth where tohe depth of the belts is compressed substantially by the force of the solar wind. The maximum travel distance is only 17,000 miles form the end of the earths near atmosphere to reach the outer limit of the second belt. The Apollo space craft was designed with full knowledge and technical precision as regards the known measured type and density, and radiative characteristic relative to the two quite different belts. The Apollo spacecraft with designed with shielding integrated and built into the craft from the design stage which did much to minimize the "rem" exposure to the Astronuats during transit time. The specific characteristic of the launch and insertion trajectory is too arcane to try to accurately describe here. But it was a precision trajectory that took advantage of the day side compression and also the unique opportunities that offers not available when launching on the night side with much different character and space depth of the belts when not affected by the compression of the solar wind. The are both smaller in size, height, depth and the interspacial channel between them is quite different.

With respect, If the landing was faked, there would only have been a select few that would have been aware of it. No doubt calculations etc were a necessary back up. Could you ask him how NASA manoevured through the Van Allen Belt and why the spacecraft was not disintegrated by it? Also, according to NASA, there was an opening in the Van Allen Belt for exit and entry, and how the scientists were able to locate this?
