STATEMENTS REGARDING THE PERSONALITY OF
THE CHRIST AND THE SECOND ADVENT AS EDUCED
FROM THE EVIDENCE IN THE RECENT LAWSUIT IN
THE MADRAS HIGH COURT, WHEN G. NARAYANIAH
SUED MRS. ANNIE BESANT FOR THE RECOVERY OF
HIS TWO SONS, J . KRISHNAMURTI AND NLTYANANDA.

Evidence of MRS. BESANT under cross examination

:â

" In E.S.* meetings, I have said once or twice,
rather vaguely but sufficiently clearly, that the boy's
body will be used by Lord Maitreya. I did not
say it publicly but I said it after 28. 12. 1911.
. . . In The Link I said I dedicated at first
three bodies, but later as things came clearer and
clearer, I said that the body of the elder minorâ
would be used by Lord Maitreya . . .  I also
believe that Lord Maitreya and Lord Christ are
the same . . . I believe he used the body of
another disciple 2,000 years ago . . . Lord
Christ and Lord Maitreya are the same, Master
Jesus was a different person, of course I should not
have published that to the world. I only thought
it had gone to people who have pledged themselves.

In Theosophist of January, 1911 . . . I referred
there to Lord Christ's advent. I referred to the
appearance of another personage like Lord Christ.
I mean it. I do admit it. Without quoting any
more, I do believe that his body would be used by
Lord Maitreya some years hence . . ."

At the request of plaintiffs Vakil the defendant
(MRS. BESANT) produced certain issues of The Link
. . . The following passage from The Link of
February, 1912, was read and marked :â [Here
follows an account of a meeting of the Order of
the Star in the East in Benares, at which the boy
Krishnamurti as the Head was distributing certificates.
This has been parallelled to the Pentecost,
and is the one referred to by Mrs. Besant; date
28.12.1913.] Describing what happened, the
account proceeds:â

"What else some saw, let me now tell. A great
coronet of brilliant shimmering blue appeared a
foot or so above the young head, and from this
descended, funnel-wise, bright streams of blue
light, till they touched the dark hair entering and
flooding the head, the Lord Maitreya was there
embodying Himself in His Chosen. Within the
coronet glanced the crimson of the symbol of the
Master Jesus, the ' Rosy Cross,' and high in air,
well-nigh from the roof, blazed down the dazzling
flashing star, which all initiates know. Around,
guarding the building within, making as it were a
living wall, hung the great green Devas,* a quadrangle
of coruscating light and colour, glorious everenriching
ranks of beauty and of joy."

" And we are now in such a time, while we are
waiting for the coming of the Lord Maitreya; how
things will be when He is literally among us in the
body He has chosen, that we do not know, but we
do know that the outpouring of His Love, His
Force, that which we speak of as His Magnetism,
is poured out already so often, so suddenly, that
they must presently change the whole condition of
things here in India. Wherever our young
brother goes he carries with him that influence,
that open channel to the higher world, and there
lies the great advantage which you have . . ."

NOTE.
This leaflet is issued by M. H. CHARLES, Windswept, Reigate, not for the purpose of casting ridicule upon this new Second Adventist Sect, nor with any wish to interfere with its legitimate propaganda. The Order of the Star has however made two claims, that are not in accordance with truth or justice, and these must be strongly resisted.

(1) The Protector of the Order has asserted that the neutral Theosophical Society is to serve as a ' Herald ' for the expected Teacher, Maitreya.

This is a violation of the T.S. Constitution which insists on non-distinction of creed, and thus forbids the Society ever to serve one Faith; yet that it is so serving now, is common knowledge.

(2) The Order has asserted that it is possible to be a member and a Christian at the same time.

The published Principles carry out this suggestion, but the inner intention was revealed to the world in the evidence above quoted. To Mr. Leadbeater, discoverer of the alleged Christ-Vehicle; and to Mrs. Besant, founder of the Order to worship this boy, the doctrines about the various personages are as follows:â

MAITREYA was a human being, he evolved rapidly, outstripped normal evolution, and is now World-Teacher. 

JESUS is on the same Path, as a human being he lent his body to Maitreya for the three years of the Palestine Ministry. He is now in a semidivine gradeâthat of â Master'âand in charge of the Christian Church.

ALCYONE is now to lend his body to Maitreya as Jesus did in the past. 

The JESUS-CHRIST, ' Only begotten Son of the Father,' the Second Logos we find in the Bible, simply does not enter into this affair at all. To requote the evidence given by Mrs. Besantâ' Lord Maitreya and Christ are the same,' andâlet Christians take this sentence to heartâ' Master Jesus is a different person.'
