Had this clause been included in the pledge, a pledge that Olcott would have been familiar with, he would never have agreed to the formation of the ES in the first place.
Does that mean Blavatsky showed Olcott one version of the pledge, but actually made members swear to the pledge, that made them follow Blavatsky?
I see many similarities between the Apostles' Creed and this pledge. Jesus in Apostles' Creed is replaced by the Outer Head of ES and church is replaced by the Theosophical movement (T.S.)
