Subject: Theos-World Smoking sneakers!!!
Dear Nigel and theos-talk group.Â
Is it the "mind that slays the real" or the undisciplined and disorganized mind that hinders the higher view and spins itsÂkama-manasic circles endlessly?
No doubt there are many levels of mental comprehension and HPB in her classic work on the Slokas was no doubt referring to that lowest aspect.
Curiously what may have blocked our entry into the higher spheresÂat one time in our development (the lower mind) may turn out to be in the final analyses an important grounding and recording agent for the disciple at a later time when his occult sneakers are smoking and he or she desperately needs something to ground themselves on or into.
Is it possible there are Masters or initiates who can come down no lower to the earth plane then their mental bodies?ÂAnd if this is so we certainly haveÂanother paradox to consider. All this emotional trauma and drama, fundamentalism and dogma may not catch the ear of those of initiate consciousness as one pure penetrating and precise thought form directed by the Will. This is not to say those with an open and pure heart cannot access the higher planes by bypassing the mind but my experienceÂfor what itâs worth is that if you want to travel to high places you better get your landing gear in good order if you want to avoidÂa crash landing on the return trip...
The mind in any of its diverse aspects may not be good or bad but how we choose to work with it that determines its value.
Many of your comments Nigel that you have made here at theos-talk prove my point.
You haveÂmany abstract and lofty insights that go in my opinion way beyond the lower mental levels; yet, you articulate and frame your lofty ideas in clear and precise intellectual language for a wide variety of people to consider.ÂIf you did not have this skill of being able to work on many levels simultaneously and an ability to ground them threw the lower mind you and a few others who post here could not be understood or able to make your important contribution.
Symbols have always fascinated and intrigued me and their ability to reveal abstarct mental and intuitive levels.Â
ÂYou may find some of my symbolic art work of interests.
It also features quotes from the ancient wisdom teachings of HPB, AAB
and many others.ÂIt can be found at:http://light- weaver.com/

Dear Duane
Thank you for your constructive response.
Your statement, "âthe spirit working over long cycles of time
has its own wisdom and may know exactly what it is doing"
itself contains profound humility and wisdom to me.
Moreover your statement, "The study of paradoxes or what appears
as inconsistencies to the human mind is only one of the first hurdles
the neophyte most come to understand in the true study of occultism,"
reminds me of two things.
Firstly, the third and fourth slokas in the Voice of the Silence;
"The Mind is the great Slayer of the Real. Let the Disciple slay the
Slayer."
Only when we allow other faculties to operate within our
consciousness can we hope to transcend the limitations of our
reductionist, analytic mindset.
Secondly, from one of the true treasures of the Adyar Theosophical
Society, Mary Anderson, came the astute words, "Only when our
mind develops an accommodation for the qualities of ambiguity
and paradox can it hope to come closer to the mysteries of
existence."
>From my perspective the "Krishnamurti - Leadbeater fiasco" involved
a far greater intention than the merely individual actions of the various players.
Kind regards
Nigel

We humans scurry around in our bewilderment about who did what and why when the spirit working over long cycles of time has its own wisdom and may know exactly what it is doing. HPB's statement that "truth is stranger then fiction" may apply here.

Why not suggest that the K finding was the result of a papal plot to discredit Theosophy, or of a dugpa, or if the Raj to further undermine the home rule movement. This sort of speculation is nothing to do with Theosophy or The truth about Leadbeater or K. NO wonder this whole site deals with matters that are largely irrelevant to most members.
