Govert,
Thanks that is informative and most interesting and gives a feel for their purpose and goals by having targeted parameters of acceptance. I can hardly wait to see what Morten says about Items "d." and "g" lol.
Regards,
John

Subject: Theos-World MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES of Quest Books, TSA, Wheaton, USA
Maybe the following will clarify some of the policies that are followed in the decision making process at the TSA in what to offer the general public:
MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Quest Books cordially welcomes manuscripts and book proposals from both authors and literary agents. Please allow up to four months before we reply. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are acceptable.
Statement of Purpose
Quest Books is an imprint of The Theosophical Publishing House, division of The Theosophical Society in America.
Quest Books is committed to publishing books of intelligence, readability, and insight for the contemporary spiritual seeker. Our books explore ancient wisdom, modern science, world religions, philosophy, the arts, and the inner meaning of life to provide dynamic tools for spiritual healing and self-transformation.
Relevant areas include Theosophy, yoga, meditation, new science and cosmology, holistic health and healing, spirituality as applied to social and ecological issues, and the spiritual traditions of both West and East. For further information on the types of books we publish, please browse our Web site.
Exclusions and Limitations
Exclusions:
Please be advised that proposals or manuscripts WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED if they fall into any of the following categories:
a.. Works intended for or about children, teenagers, or adolescents.
b.. Fiction or literary works (novels, short stories, essays, or poetry).
c.. Autobiographical material (memoirs, personal experiences, or family stories).
d.. Works received through mediumship, trance, or channeling.
e.. Works related to UFOs or extraterrestrials.
f.. Works related to self-aggrandizement (e.g., "how to make a fortune") or "how to" books.
g.. Any genre unrelated to our Statement of Purpose (see above) or incompatible with the views of The Theosophical Society.
Limitations:
Academic works (e.g., Ph.D. dissertations) will be considered, provided that the work is appealing to the general reader. We will not accept manuscripts with an excessively academic style or terminology that is difficult for the general reader to understand. Most theses and dissertations require substantial reworking in style and content before they are suitable for a general audience.
