The superstition is in the 'belief of a personal god or personal devil"
If you believe in either, HPB would suggest that you must not 
represent theosophy.

That means calling other person superstitious was allowed that time, notwithstanding others' freedom of thought to believe or not to believe in any idea. If I call somebody superstitious, others will say it is personal attack.
