I think most officers in TS are used to OBEDIENCE. They won't speak anything without the permission of the Outer Head of Esoteric School. Most officers in opposite camp, i.e. in the party of John Algeo and Betty Bland will speak what is pleasing to their bosses. It is because posts of these officers and in many cases salary that comes with the post depends on favors of these bosses. These are the reasons why officers don't discuss much on internet. They are worried if what they speak is not pleasing to their bosses.
There are other reasons also. Work in TS consumes most of the time of officers. Those who talk on internet are retired and/or are not so busy in TS work. And also these people don't worry about what TS officers think about them.
What you said is right. Internet gives more information to people than physical organization.
