Makes me wonder why no one here ever read or heard of the Roman Catacombs one can tour them dailey in Italy and read the engravended grafetti of the early Christians that tthey carved. Also if one were inclined there is a mountian of remnents in various forms that can be known about by due diligence.

Yes, and in opposite to that strange Christian death sheme healthy theosophy 
states that one should give his/her/its life for theosophy - but living, not 
dead.

I am not surprised Frank - RC used these fictious stories as role models for 
other followers to be prepared to die for their religion - what an evil 
source - almost incomprehensible

Cass, please note what Gottfried von Purucker said in a lecture: 

1. "Later we may have to go into this subject more profundly, and we shall 
see that these tales of diabolical persecution by the pagans, and of such 
sweet-spirited serenity and willing martyrdom by the Christians are largely, 
like so much else, faked testimony." 
- Purucker: Word Wisdom, p. 130 

2. "... you will remember that the Christians adopted a great many of the 
mystical ideas of the Jews in founding their faith..." 
- op. cit., p. 119 

The early "church fathers" knew perfectly that the bible stories were not 
real history, but foremost allegorical descriptions of the soul development. 
The later church - which the alleged son of God never wanted to launch - has 
forgotten the higher insights of its half initiated fathers and was 
descending down to blind believe, brain mind conclusions, dead letter 
interpretation. 

It seems that Anand admires these spiritual descent to dead letter. Pukka 
theosophy is a good antidot against this mental confusion.

They became martyrs because they were slaves and dispensible at that period
