WAITING FOR ANSWERS

We all know from the postings on Internet, so far only two GC members have
given their open reports of the recent GC meeting. These reports have raised
many serious questions and we are waiting see if they are answered; not with
personal subjective opinions or allegations but with verifiable objective
facts.

Many questions, of course seems to have touched some sensitive nerves and it
is very easy to deal with them, if they are addressed in a very simple
straight forward way that even a high school dropout can understand. Elected
leaders have more responsibility to answer any statement or comment they
make and keeping silent is not going to make the issues go away.

In this Internet age, where the leaders cannot control the medium and where
everything we say is indexed and archived, and is accessible for the entire
world, keeping silent is only going to reflect negatively on them. Let us
keep tuned and see what happens next.

It amazing that even after the passage of one month, none of the other GC
members who attended or whose proxies attended the meeting are keeping their
members in the dark. I thought, as elected representatives of their members,
would be eager to keep their membership updated on a timely basis. If there
are no personal axes to grind, all you need to do is to pass on factual
information to members, without fear or favor.

With free Internet forums, it is quick and easy to distribute couple of
pages of information. Why they have not chosen to do it, and what were their
motivations, only they know.

The secrecy with which the GC members operated and continues to operate, is
the root cause of all that happened since early last year. It looks like
they continue to use secrecy to keep their members in the dark because if
the details of their activities become transparent, many members may ask
many questions they may not be able to answer them without embarrassment.
Continued lack of transparency does not help membership or the TS. It only
provides more opportunities for trouble makers and hurtful of TS and
theosophy.

Internet is the most powerful information and communication tool of today
for the welfare and progress of humanity, and it is one of the bulwarks
against the destructive work of the Dugpas. Dugpas were very active in the
early days of TS (all you need to do is to read some of the letters from the
Masters) and there is no reason to doubt they are again active today.

My only hope is that none of us unsuspectingly be deluded and become their
cat's paws.
