Liberté, égalité, fraternité, French for "Liberty, equality, fraternity
(brotherhood)", led to the French Revolution.

Now the misguided and ill advised secret and fast disenfranchisement
proposal and subsequent statement seems to have raised the ire of the Indian
Members, and also has developed traction for  the issue among members
worldwide.

Once you set these powerful forces in motion, they are bound to lead to
unpredictable results. The powerful catalist in this mix is the Internet
over which no one has any control. Wiser minds (who have an understanding of
the power and usefulness of Internet) would have used Internet to gather
membership support for disenfranchisement and once you get the members
behind, no one would have been able to stop it.

Rousing the Indian Section members will also have long time consequences for
any future candidates. I know Indian membership are very cohesive and active
and they tend to vote in higher percentage than rest of the world. This is
in spite of average lower level of education of the members.

Let us all hope and "pray" some good will come out of all this.
