TS - Disenfranchisement Proposals - Super Secrecy & Speed

The irony behind the current developments relating to disenfranchisement of
members world-wide, one of the fundamental issues none of the members of the
GC Quartet is yet to address are (1) why the super secrecy with which the
proposal was drafted and sent to the Intl Secy and (2) speed with which it
was sought to get approved.
Is it because it was felt there is no need to let members know because the
leaders are better informed and knowledgeable and wiser to know what is in
the best interests of you and me? Or it may be the wishful thinking that by
keeping silent, the members' reaction will die down, given time?
I believe that due to serious nature of the questions raised, members'
reaction world-wide is only going to become more intense rather than less
intense. Where this would lead to, I do not know. Issues of this kind tend
to lead to totally unintended consequences. We will have to wait and see.
In the meanwhile, we, the members cannot and should not let our guard down
and have to very vigilant. If any reader comes across any useful
information, please feel free to post it here. If there is too much personal
risk for your job or other perks, you can e-mail one of us off list.
