When the amendments come up at the meeting, it can be modified during
discussions and adopted. I think some lawyers may know how this thing can be
handled. Now you understand why all this change was proposed without any
discussion and in a hush hush manner. It is simply an attempt to surprise
the membership with a fait accompli. I suspect this change is only the first
act. Next likely move the HQ out of Adyar and it has been talked about for
quite some time. That would go hand in hand with selling part of estate to
build a HQ somewhere in the West. When this happens, it is possible that the
local government will acquire the land for public purposes and we all end up
with a miniscule Adyar. Now is the time for all of us to contact our elected
representatives and tell them what is going on is not acceptable and the
thing has to be stopped.
