Me is thinking that it was Greed and not opaqueness. My theory is that those behind the power have staged the whole thing in order to reap more at the expense of their slaves.

The fact that TS was setup with autonomy at every level within the overall
objectives, proves that individual freedom and consensus is key to its
growth.
We should recall the statements in the 1900 letter pointing out "Popery"
and what unnecessary secrecy has done to the organizations in the past. It
is the opaqueness in Wall Street which has brought USA to its Financial
meltdown today.
