Hello Adelasie
I cannot recall the article but I think HPB stated that Theosophy was a Philosophy went writing to the Archbishop of Canterbury. Albeit a philosophy grounded in ancient philosophies. Platonism is not a religion?

Hi Cass,
The difference between organized sectarian religion and Theosophy is
fundamental. However, Theosophy is defined originally as a synthesis
of science, philosophy and religion, with each segment interdependent
with the others, sort of like everything else!
