Boxing - or better called pugilism - is the noblest of sports. Aside
from that, by focussing solely on his atletic activities (that also
included fencing by the way), which was quite common in 19th century
England with even boxing schools for women, I fail to see what you'd
want to achieve in casu Mathers.

Read his biography for a better understanding of the man. At least he
was no antisemite as Blavatsky was, who wrote an apologia concerning
the progroms in Russia.

Now I would call that agressive.
