If any disinterested scholar could study carefully the Jaina litterature, in their thousands of books preserved - or shall we say hidden - in Rajpootana, Jusselmere, at Patun, and other places; and especially if he could gain access to the oldest of their sacred volumes, he would find a perfect identity of the philosophical thought... between the Jainas and the Buddhists.
Total coincidence that I stumbled on this old post at the Indology list, dated 1991, a couple of days ago. I wonder if it ever materialized...
