Re: Theos-World TS Membership Trend

Dear Rev. Igani,
I live in South Africa and find myself in a similar predicament. However, I find that I manage to scrape together sufficient learnings and "pointers" from the many links, quotes and references that other members of this and other forums offer. While I recognise that it would be beneficial to have a group of similar-minded people to talk to and meet with, at the moment (to be honest) I am quite relieved that I am NOT a participating "member" of any formal organisation given the barrage of concern and dissension that the forthcoming elections seem to be causing.

What I am assured of though, is that whatever the outcome of this election, theosophy - and the teachings of Theosophy (to quote Aryel) - will prevail and that our Masters and teachers will continue to lead us to the Truth and understanding - as and when each of us is ready to receive such. In the interim, I do not allow myself to become despondent - there is a wealth of reading out there (on-line, digital and hardcopy) that will take more than one life-time to assimilate, digest and put into practice.

Kind regards
Shel Steijl

  Dear Brethren

I think it has to do with the attitude of the Leadership in some sections. For instance, I am not a member of TS but I am here due to my interest and understanding of the teachings. Having been convinced that I resonate with the teachings, I inquired for membership details from the West African Section as I could not locate a place in Nigeria where I could enroll for membership. It is disheartening to note that uptil the time of writing no response has been received from TS West Africa. I have even written to Adyar for direction to where I could find a Representative for enrollment. After several emails, an official from Adyar who I contacted directly, advised that I contact the TS West Africa office. I am discouraged to do that for now as all the emails to that office have not been replied.

The Arcane School will continue to record increases in its membership because inquiries to the school are promptly looked into. Every little questions are answered with keen interest.

The question of membership in TS is raised in this forum by Providence in answere to the yearnings of those of us who are disillusioned on our effort to join. I hope that the authorities will use this opportunity to pay particular attention to installing appropriate means of communicating with enquirers and to many seekers in this postion. I know that in Nigeria there are a good number of persons in my locality seeking to be members of an authentic Theosophical group.

May the Lord bless you all.
