Re: Theos-World TS Adyar President Election

That's how 'the old boys club' works. Play by my rules. Brotherhood, imo, does not mean joining up to other associations but respecting their choices.

You are on the right track. It is a simple attempt to influence those TS
members who are sympathetic to the masonic organization to support the
candidature or else why is it mentioned.

There is another more fundamental issue from a theosophist's point of view.
All one needs to join the TS is to be in sympathy with the First Object --
Brotherhood and you sign in an application and no further question is asked
except to check if you are a minor, in which case in many countries you need
parent's consent.

On the other hand there are other serious restrictions when one seeks
admission to masonry. Anyone can google and find out how the admission
process works in masonry and what the general restrictions are. So trying to
show off the high masonry degree to impress voters is something voters need
to very carefully look into, especially those who are committed to
theosophical Brotherhood in its widest sense.

I say this because I know there are long standing members of theosophy who
have made immense contributions in their own low key way who will not be
admitted into masonry.
