Dear Cass

Thank you for this significant additional point.

It is perhaps not the self-killing of the physical
body alone which is of greatest concern in this
context, but the mindset of the individual that
enables this to occur.

It seems some in this forum are unaware of the
insidious dangers of the leader/follower mindset
for the everyday human being, its perpetuators, and
the support and/or accommodation of its and their
perpetuation.

These dangers are exacerbated where the "leader"
clearly and demonstrably lies and fabricates
his/her teachings.

The body may suffer for as long as it takes to
terminate, however the followers' skandhas of
mind suffering can last for aeonic periods,
throughout many incarnations.

This is especially so where this perpetuation is
supported and encouraged in the name of "freedom."

Genuine freedom involves letting go of the desire
or emotional need to follow. However our kama/manasic
ego, desirous of putative certainty and
predictability in the desperate hope for safety and
security, resists this "letting go" in every
conceivable manner, so often subtly and even
unconsciously to the heavily programmed and
indoctrinated individual.

It really is a "death struggle" and as mentioned in
an earlier posting, "the stakes are human souls."

Kind regards
Nigel
