Dear Mkr and all
Mkr you are correct. It is a day celebrated to
recognise all those in the Adyar Society who
selflessly gave of themselves to their cause.
Adjacent to the "Great Hall" at the international
headquarters of the Adyar Society in India is
placed a small monument dedicated to all those
workers who have contributed behind the scenes;
those vital arms, legs and hearts, without which
the day to day operations, conventions and lecturers
would not be able to function.
They are the usually unsung and unheard heroes in
any organisation or group.
It was by far my wife's and my favourite monument.
Regards
Nigel
