would have to say that truth is what seems true to each individual in 
his or her own heart. None of us really knows enough to go farther 
than that. Helena Blavatsky was a brilliant woman and a great 
teacher, but first and foremost, she was a magnificent example of a 
good human being. She was kind and thoughtful, compassionate and 
selfless. She said once that in the last analysis, occultism is 
altruism. One could start there, in any definition of truth according 
to theosophy. Look in your heart for what you truly feel is the ideal 
human being, the kind of person you would most want to be, and try to 
be that person. Your own heart will guide you best. It is not at all 
a matter of study and intellectual achievement. It's a matter of 
doing the right thing. We all know, no matter what religion we belong 
to, what that is. The Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have 
them do unto you," is a great place to start.
