Now I understand where you are coming from. It was the christian church that
tried to kill Theosophy and Theosophical Society in India. I also do not
know, in India, if the christian churchs are still surreptitiously working
to undermine the theosophical society and theosophy in India and if so it
will be no surprise to any one.
Also, there have been discussions here how to reconcile the fact that LCC
does not allow women ordained as priests and have not seen any women bishops
either. As a theosophist who believes and supports the first object, it is
very difficult to reconcile this discrimination.
As for attendance in services, many many orthodox and staunch Hindus do not
go to the temples regularly like the many christians do on Sundays. I even
had an encounter with a leading fundamentalist politician in the town when
the politician stated and Sunday is god's day and would not care to talk
about other matters. I was about tell the politician, if this be so, the
local police and fire stations and hospitals should be shut down so that all
can spend the god's day in church related activities.
My friend, you are mistaken about Hinduism and the underlying life and
vitality. I have lived for several decades in India and have seen it first
hand.
