Thanks for your response. Unfortunately scholarstic debates in the past haven't solved the dilemma. It takes great courage to let go of a belief system that has been a driving force in anyone's life,because we take it as a reflection of our own integrity,and for me, the only saving grace about Leadbeater and Besant is that they provided the probationery test that discernment within the same belief system is a necessary and almost compulsory avenue in the search for truth. It's easy to knock christianity if one is no longer attached to it.
HPB or the Masters say that the search for truth is a singular, personal journey that demands great strength of character, moreso when it cannot be verified other than by intuition. I guess it is a process of removing the pebbles from our shoes, at the same time to keep on moving forward until we prove to ourselves that we may have erred in judgement, but not in motive.

It's a difficult and complex issue isn't it? But my humble suggestion would be to simply
include scholarly and well researched articles on these subjects in the theosophist and
leave the rest to karma.
