Re: Theos-World HOW Does One Explain These Two Statements?

Daniel,
Well my view of it is the seven fold economy of individuals that is in play in every moment of waking activity. And the indices of what they read indicates the dominant mix of that economy of being. The "reach" is indexed to that economy of the individual person. Books that contain largely content about astral bodies, emotions, desires, past lives are appreciated by some because they want some form of gratification that may seem to install a sense of advantage in perceptions or even power as to others. Contrast that to having to read through Isis or S.D. which is a huge spectrum of survey of history in many aspects intellectual and even boring to some in comparison. The Ergos or force of active energy is impulsive and directive in a unity with the generated thought of the individual and seeks gratification in cognizable form in an immediate as possible context. I see this along several dynamic scales individual, groups, nations, races, world, etc.The lower constituents of the
seven fold economy dominate life on earth in the main. When H.P.B. crossed to the other shore the equivalence of the Atmic, Buddhic and Higher Mind was removed from the physical organization, the remaining lower constituents on the dynamic of Group were in the essentially post bardo dazed condition and confusion. In time ,shortly thereafter, due to the disconnect, the individuals following the dominant mix of their seven fold economy's in keeping with affinity's reorganized by mutual gravitization to each other both by outer recognitions and internal recognitions dictated by the seven fold economy lower bodies forming splinter groups uniquely differentiating from each other to satisfy the demand of the contextual economies at that time. This principle can be seen and located in my view in all the branch group creations including wedgewood and the liberal church. I view this process as beyond control of individuals at this stage of humanity for the foreseeable future. The Conditione
d mind of all mankind is the singular universal possession of each individual that is responsible for most of what appears here.

John

HOW does one explain the two statements BELOW
by the late John Coats, President of the
Theosophical Society (Adyar) from 1973-1979?

What caused such a state of affairs?

Is this situation as described by Mr. Coats
INDICATIVE of the Adyar T.S.
organization and its "mindset"?

Are these statements still true in 2007?

Is such a state of affairs "good" or "bad" or
it doesn't matter?

The two statements are as follows:

"The percentage of members, who have not as yet
ever read any books by H.P. Blavatsky is
regrettably high." The Theosophist, Feb., 1975

"There's a great need for the deepening of the
individual member's understanding of theosophy.
A lot of people skate superfically over the
surface of theosophy without really going into
it in depth." The Theosophist, Dec. 1975.
