How tolerant & inclusive is this statement???

In the article just posted by Perry, the following quote is given
from the Dalai Lama:
"Liberation in which 'a mind that understands the sphere of reality
annihilates all defilements in the sphere of reality' is a state that
only Buddhists can accomplish."
Notice the word used here: ONLY
How tolerant and inclusive is this statement???
