VARIETIES OF DELUSION

Theos-talkers,
All along 2006 we saw here varied attempts to reduce Theosophy to a personalistic, pseudo-historical view of the theosophical movement; or to personal portraits ; or to financial accounts and real estate matters ; or to ritualism, to inter-organizational conflict gossips.
We also saw attempts to look at Theosophy and theosophical groups through childish -- or senile -- mockery; or with the help of a misguided personalistic devotion for "Masters" ; through blind faith or sheer "scientific" and materialistic skepticism.
All these are, of course, but different ways to run away from the calm examination of the philosophy of Theosophy.
While trying to understand these consciously or unconsciously manipulative varieties of ignorant behaviour, we can get to know at least some of the mental/emotional mechanisms by which human beings tell lies and create illusions to themselves, first, and to others, as a consequence.
All of this is good and useful as it stirs and illustrates those mental habits and emotional stuff of which one is supposed to get rid of, as one gets in touch with real Theosophy and learns how to contemplate it uninterruptedly and 24 hours a day, under all circumstances.
But the year ends with the presence of the HPB Collected Writings on line, and, as we know, all is well that ends well.
Congratulations and a happy new year to you all,
Regards, Carlos.
