Mahatmas or Masters

Marie,
I tend to think the term "Mahatmas" was never widely used.
It seems to be the "Mahatma Letters" themselves the main factor in its relative usage today.
As to the Mahatmas, they more often used the term "Brothers" and "adepts" (without a capital letter) to refer to each other, in their Letters.

> Friends, today I watched the U.L.T. video "Theosophical Mahatmas". I have been reading the Mahatma Letters, and have been wondering just when and why the term "mahatmas" was dropped from usage in theosophical parlance and the term "masters" came into wide usage instead. Does anyone know?
