If my memory is correct, I looked into it more than 25 years ago. Probably, it was one of the editions of "The Secret Doctrine" that contained such a date.
From what I vaguely remember, it referred to certain Indian astrologers who did the calculation.
Also, I read that the first 5000 years of Kali Yuga have passed, and 3000 BC seems a good date.
I wonder if Mr. Barborka is living. I had met him once at the Far Horizons Camp in 1968. If he were alive, he could throw some light.
