Using pen-names

Jake,

Thanks a lot for your insightful posting.

Indeed, using false names, and -- in the case of "David Green" and "Terry Brown" -- impersonating non-existing individuals for the purpose of better slandering and creating gossips & dissention inside the movement, is very far from the good and ethical use of pen names or mystical names.

In Brazilian criminal law, using false names for hurtful purposes has an interesting name: "crime of ideological falsehood".

But of course in our movement I do not think anybody has come to the point of having false identity cards.

As to slandering, it can only lead one to jail if the slandered people is alive. For that reason, Solovyof had to wait for HPB's death to publish his "materials" -- as H. Olcott correctly wrote. Nowadays, the Algeos and Caldwells of the TSA are legally free to use all those falsehoods. Legally, not karmically. And they do not have blessings from Adyar for that.

Regards, Carlos.
