Friends,

Late in April 2006, Dallas got to a hospital in a serious condition.  
See Eldon's message below. 
But he would still come back and work for some time more.   Apparently his last messages here were made in the first days of September 2006.

Hi Eldon... please send to Dallas my heartfelt wishes for his continued strength - Hospitals can be the most undignified of all places on this earth. Please let him know that he is warmly in my thoughts at the moment; Eldon, my Mum died last month also in hospital and it was Dallas's writings that I read to her twice a day - they kept her heart in the "right place" and her spirits up; they also got her thinking outside of her pain. Please let Dallas know this and say "thank you" to him from me. I hope that Dallas has someone there who could do something similar for him.
