Carl,
You say:
"I have noticed this kind of behavior before, and then from persons that have been denied membership in a Masonic Lodge, or have been kicked out."
I say:
"Neither of them. I have good relationship with masons. I just happen to be a student of HPB and the Mahatmas and brought here the result of my studies, with all due bibliographical references."
I have personal studies and writings on the extremely positive and decisive historical influence of Masons in the process of independence in Brazil, in 1817-1824. And -- a research project about that. Masonry started here by 1817 in organized form. By 1789-92, there was the first attempt for independence, but by then there was only individual masons, no lodge, and a general sympathy fopr masonic ideals. By 1822, political independence came. The masonic ideals are essentially theosophical and perfectly valid today.
Alessandro Cagliostro, whose various biographies I had to study in French, was a great theosophist and mason. His authentic Egyptian Rite of Masonry, created in Lyon and whose documents I have in book form in French language, was superb. I also have with me and studied the ritual of initiation of Plato in ancient Egypt, published by Manly P. Hall's PRS. And so on.
But HPB/Masters conception of theosophical movement is different and away from any ritualism. Et pour cause. And for a good reason.
Regards, Carlos.
