Cover Story: Pope Benedict XVI's Trip to Turkey
---------------------------------------------------------
This week, Pope Benedict XVI is visiting Turkey -- his first papal pilgrimmage
to a predominantly Muslim country. The historic trip is being closely watched
as the pontiff tries to reach out to the Muslim world in the aftermath of his
controversial remarks linking Islam to violence. The Pope says his visit is
designed to promote "dialogue, brotherhood and reconciliation" between
Christians and Muslims. But will he be successful in bridging the growing
divide between the two religious groups? Kim Lawton is in Turkey following the
Pope on his travels and reports on his efforts to heal relations between Muslims
and Christians.

Profile: Scott Neeson
---------------------------------------------------------
Scottish-born Scott Neeson, who moved to Los Angeles in 1993 from Australia, was
living the glamorous life as a Hollywood film executive and keeping company with
some of the industry's top stars. But during an overseas backpacking trip in
2003, Neeson came across a place that would change his life forever. While
visiting the poverty-stricken capitol of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, he encountered
children begging for change and scavenging in the dumps. The experience
compelled him to quit his lucrative job at Sony Pictures and begin an entirely
new career an ocean away as the founder and executive director of the Cambodian
Children's Fund -- a charity dedicated to providing for the most neglected and
impoverished. Initially founded as a safe house for Cambodia's orphaned,
abandoned or abused kids, this non-profit organization today not only provides
shelter and food to those in need, but also offers a health care center and a
comprehensive educational program.
Lucky Severson talks with Neeson about his commitment to make a difference in
the lives of Cambodia's disadvantaged children. "The one thing it's really
taught me, even more than spirituality, is the resilience of the human spirit,"
Neeson explains. "What these kids have been through is remarkable."

December 8: "Shia/Sunni Conflict" -- Lucky Severson talks with Middle East
scholar Vali Nasr, author of "Shia Revival," about the theological differences
fueling the historic conflict between Sunnis and Shiites and whether there are
any prospects for peace. (Rebroadcast from September 29, 2006)
"Dr. Francis Collins" -- Dr. Francis Collins, head of the NIH's Human Genome
Project and author of "The Language of God," joins host Bob Abernethy to discuss
his research, the conflict between evolution and intelligent design, and his
views on a universal God. (Rebroadcast from July 21, 2006)
