Some 10 years ago there was Party for Global Warming in Russia.
They organized demonstrations. One of them was such: they came to the 
bank of a river with devices for boiling (I don't know how it is in 
English - it's a kind of electric spiral which can be put into any 
jar or pan and boil the water there) and were warming the water in 
the river.
