Judases and Their Publicizers

Dear Friends,
H.P. Blavatsky must have had her reasons to write, in a letter to Miss and Mrs. Arundale, in 1885:
?And oh, dear, how many traitors and Judases of all colours and shades we have in the very heart of the Society. Ambition is a terrible adviser! ? (1)
Now, what is the difference, if any, between ancient and modern Judases? The question is not too difficult to answer.
In the New Testament, Matthew 27: 3-5, one reads:
?When Judas, the traitor, learnt that Jesus had been comdemned, he repented and took back the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders ..... ? then he went off and hanged himself.?
On the other hand, modern Judases don?t return their ?30 silver coins?. And, of course, they don?t hang themselves. They try to get more money and fame thanks to the treason.
Later on, their ideas get generously publicized by would-be scholars who, I hope, do work for free.
Best regards, Carlos Cardoso Aveline.
